Individual therapy

Boost your mental health and thrive

Many people considering bariatric surgery or medication report struggling with poor mental health. Issues such as a complex relationship with food, body image dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, unprocessed trauma, depression, anxiety, or challenging relationships can impact their experience and outcomes of treatment.

Addressing these concerns can make it easier to implement and maintain the health behaviour changes that come with surgery or medication. Psychological therapy can help you develop healthier coping skills, better manage stress, and enhance motivation, mental resilience and overall wellbeing.

Clinical psychologists offer person-centred, evidence-based treatments to help you achieve your mental health and wellbeing goals.

Medicare rebates of $145.35 are available for individual therapy if your GP has provided you with a referral under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) or an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDP). Please note, we do not bulk bill.

If you do not have a GP referral, you can pay privately. If you have private health insurance they may cover some of the fee. Please check with your insurer prior to booking.
